Job Search workshop

(a ‘must’ for new migrant job seekers)

This one day interactive and informative Job Search Workshop is packed with tips and guidance for new migrant job seekers to identify their best pathways for suitable employment. Receive cover letter and CV writing advice, interview tips and crucial information on how to communicate in the Kiwi workplace. Tuesdays

IT Workshop At this workshop you will get employer perspectives on the skills needed in IT sector; learn about New Zealand employment culture and what to expect from a recruitment; pick up tips on Kiwi-style CVs and interviews. Thursday 3 Aug

Intercultural Awareness & Communication Skills Workshop A training session will help to communicate more effectively cross-culturally, identify the relationship between culture values, communication, relationships, and effective workplace interactions. Friday 21 July

Treaty of Waitangi

For Everyone

A day for newcomers and for people of all backgrounds to explore the history of the Treaty of Waitangi, NZ’s founding document.  In this very popular interactive workshop, discover what the Treaty means to you as a newcomer in New Zealand, it also includes a session on responding to job interview questions about the Treaty of Waitangi Saturday 22 July

Business Start Up in NZ This workshop covers setting up and registering a business; business structures & Employing Staff; · claiming expenses and calculating tax;  Provisional tax and how it impacts business; Goods Service Tax (GST), should you  register? Monday 24 July

Immigration Info This workshop covers: Rights and obligations of holding all classes of visa including student, work, partnership & residence  visas; Recent changes to Immigration Law; Visa expiry and unlawful stay in NZ: How INZ decides immigration applications; Where to find the right information, who can assist, in what way and how much would it cost

This highly interactive workshop covers how New Zealand’s health systems are organised, and provides crucial information about swimming and fishing in New Zealand waters, fire safety and general wellbeing. Tuesday 15 Aug

Information Session

Learn about renting, flatting and boarding in a presentation by Government department, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Find out more about how to buy a house in a vital talk by real estate agents Barfoot & Thompson. Wednesday 16 Aug

Budgeting and Financial Systems in NZ:

Information Session

A crucial workshop providing you with essential information about budgeting, retirement planning, NZ’s KiwiSaver scheme, tax system, with plenty of time for questions and answers. Thursday 17 Aug

Legal Rights and Responsibilities in NZ:

Information Session

A one hour talk by NZ Police about community safety, followed by a helpful presentation by Auckland Community Law Centre on consumer law, employment rights and general rights and responsibilities in New Zealand. Friday 18 Aug

ARMS English Pronunciation Course

To perform at your best in the workplace, you need to communicate easily and effectively with other people.  This English Pronunciation course will help you achieve this, through face-to-face group and individual coaching. Sundays
